Imperium3 New York, Inc. (iM3NY) is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of “Battery Application Engineer”. This position will join our Product development team and will serve as a bridge between “Sales and Marketing” “Engineering and “Product” groups and more specifically will lead all parts of application development of cells, packs , racks and containers.
JOB DUTIES:
• Develop and implement test protocols to characterize and improve performance and lifetime, at the pack and system level
• Understand customer and industry challenges and lead the need for product recommendations, customized products applications, new product demonstrations and troubleshooting for customers focused on the battery space.
• Analyze and provide solutions to pre/post-sale engineering/technical problems.
• Delivering the technical demands of customers and providing guidelines on new product or new technology development
• Develop and understand key equipment required to support the use case of our products. As needed, develop network and partnerships to provide full-service solutions to enhance customer experience
• Is responsible for directly communicating with sales and marketing groups

SKILLS REQUIRED • Good working understanding of, and hands-on experience with, typical battery characterization techniques
• Ability to design, build and troubleshoot test setups (mechanical, electrical, fluid, thermal, etc.)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to design and conduct complex experiments
• Basic knowledge of DOE approaches for performance optimization
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to function as a team player in a cross-functional environment
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Education: BS, MS, PhD, or equivalent, in mechanical/electrical engineering or related field
• 5+ years hands-on experience in battery development, characterization and/or testing
• Experience implementing root cause and corrective action methodologies
